Before ProcessManager -stock management system, the information of the basic stock was maintained in an Excel-sheet. However, the number of stock was varying and occasionally some of the products run out earlier than expected. Also the ordering process was done in traditional way, which is, writing the order on a piece of paper and phoning to the supplier. Uusivirta mentions, that checking the shelves and phoning the order took every time approximately 30 minutes, sometimes even twice a week.
A representative from Cora Refinish Oy organised a demo presentation of ProcessManager in TAKK and the decision to take ProcessManager in use was made there and then. Main reason for the decision was the solutions that ProcessManager offered for TAKK: the number of stock could be easily seen and it could be maintained where it should be with less products in stock. One reason was also the benefit of ProcessManager-stock management system in educational purposes for the field of logistics and warehousing.
“Before the implementation of the ProcessManager -stock management system, the information of the basic stock was maintained in an Excel-sheet. Also the ordering process was done in a traditional way, which was, writing the order on a piece of paper and then calling the supplier. Checking the shelves and phoning in the order took approximately 30 minutes, sometimes even twice a week. Now everything is atomized and time can be used on creating more value for our students.”
Introduction of ProcessManager was quick and easy. Also the students were very keen to learn and use the new system. For the staff members, ProcessManager brought much needed time savings. Now with the new ordering routines, the stock was easier to maintain both in terms of number of the products and quantity of the stock. In addition, everyone has an access to see which products are included in the next upcoming order.
ProcessManager has had very positive influence also to the work environment. All products are in nice order at their own specific places on shelves. When working in and educational environment, it is more than crucial that the stock has always the right amount of right products. And that the value of the stock is constant. Uusivirta thinks that ProcessManager works very good and adds that in the longer run with more user experience, TAKK will surely benefit even more from all ProcessManager features.
